King Balgazzar
II Law's and Rules of Conduct
1.
Cheating
We, the World Dreamers, are aware of various ways attempts people can
make at cheating. Some people may have already seen some of the
diabolical Spell Weaving we have in place to surprise people who
attempt to disrespect the Realm. Be warned that we will never make our
plans known when we put something in to stop a cheat. So think long
and hard before you try that exploit you have in mind, because chances
are we've already thought about it and have taken steps towards
preventing it. If you ruin your character in an attempt to cheat the
module you have only yourself to blame.
2.
Classes
The classes available are Fighter, Ranger, Barbarian, Paladin, Cleric,
Wizard, and Rogue. There is no multi-classing at all. Clerics may no
longer use edged weapons, and rogues cannot use medium or large
weapons. Rogues and wizards cannot wear metal armor nor use shields.
Barbarians and Rangers may not wear armor heavier than chain mail.
3.
Races
Human, Dwarf, and Elf are the only allowed races. All others will be
hunted down and murdered.
4.
Spells
Spell casting by wizards and clerics now require components. Common
components may be bought at stores, but for more powerful spells, the
components will be more expensive and/or rare. Any spell that either
replaces a critical class skill (find traps for instance) has been
removed, as have almost all spells that increase AB or that affect
items with enchantment. Paladin’s, however, still have Divine Favor.
All spells that grant immunity were changed to a saving throw bonus.
Too many spells were altered to mention here, but we believe the
balance is most satisfying. We tried to alter, instead of remove,
whenever it was possible. The stat increasing spells had their
durations lowered and the bonus reduced. Familiar's have been removed.
5.
Weapons
Available weapons are Great Axe, Battle Axe, Bastard Sword, Great
Sword, Long Sword, Dagger, Short Sword, War Hammer, Mace, Spear,
Throwing Spear, Sling, Long & Short Bow, and Quarterstaff.
5.a Mage Staff
Mages now get a
free undroppable staff that will grow in power as they do. Mages may
get this staff from the soon to be unveiled Cowled Wizard Registry.
6.
Armor
There are 5 armor types, and their respective AC bonus and max
dexterity bonus have been changed. Full Plate Mail (10AC, 7 dex),
Plate Mail (8 AC, 11 dex), Chain Mail (6AC, unlimited dex), Leather
(2Ac, unlimited dex), Clothing (0AC, unlimited dex)
7.
Death
TSoA is using a respawn system and items do not drop on death.
You have a choice to buy your way out or give up XP.
8.
Alignment
In TSoA there are no alignments. Every person is free willed and able
to act as they wish within the confines of the roleplay of their
class. There is no distinct good and evil for players. Each class will
have its own dedicated alignment. Once you exit the staging area you
will be assigned an alignment. This new feature will prohibit you from
choosing any other class on levelup.
9.
Skills
Although not fully disabled. Characters will not be able to advance in
Craft Weapons, Craft Armor or Craft Traps. Tumble, Heal and Pick
Pocket have likewise been removed.
10.
Dungeonmasters
SotSC has three DM's, Vamp X-Unknown, Vamp Vorporol, and VampFlashRam.
We will not have other DM's, and we feel that our world runs itself.
11. PvP
Many areas are non-PvP. However, Balgazzar II has built a massive
planar arena in Athkatla where hero’s may battle it out for wagers or
just for pride. Hero’s may fight individually one versus one, or party
versus party. Occasionally, Balgazzar himself throws games where
hero’s may enter for a fee, and the victors get prizes from the King.
12.
Resting
Most areas are No Rest. Players may rest in some dungeon areas and
inside an inn. The time required to rest has been greatly increased
(unless you are in an inn).
13.
Item Drops
All item drops in TSoA are randomized. We have made massive item
tables containing all of the items from SotSC and more.
14.
Monster Spawning
All monster spawning is randomized. Areas have different monster
tables to choose from.
15.
Adventuring
Adventure areas are classed into level ranges. This effectively forces
players to undergo quests and areas for their intended level range.
While the story plot of TSoA will be designed for a single player, it
is recommended that players group up for the randomized areas and
dungeons. The Copper Coronet will have an npc one can speak with which
will broadcast their name, class, and level and let people know they
are looking for a party. |
