NWN1 Reunion/Server Raid

Postby Rifkin » July 16, 2010, 3:22 am

I guess this is the last person any of you would expect to be poking around these old forums, mild hatred and expected trolling aside, I am going to go out on a limb here and be the first to say, it was a pleasure playing on Neverwinter Nights with you guys. I was thinking about it the other day, and the idea of fabricating a module is much beyond this game in it's age, but I still think there is plenty of nostalgic fun to be had. Perhaps we could jump on a Roleplaying Server together and create a little ruckus, show them what SotSC players are made of!

Otherwise, we could just host up a module of some sort to run around and adventure one more time...

This isn't anything set in stone so far, so let me know if you're interested and what you would be interested in doing.

Cheers,
Riffy.

I had more fun on the PK-arena server honestly :P

I've been going through my own bit of nostalgia however, playing bits and pieces here and there of several decade-old games >.< - Descent Freespace 2, Arcanum, BG2, IWD. But that's quickly going to come to an end here in just under 3 days with the release of SC2 =D

@ET: you mean the Vamp Hardcore Legit Arena ???

i remember the days when it got packed around ~20 people, but not quite as much as SotSC.
any more people then that and I would've had to create a 2nd arena.

you know what? it would've been cool to have a hacked and legit arena in one server.
It can cost up to 3,900.00 USD to ship 150 pounds using UPS Worldwide Saver.

Yes, that's the one I'm referring to. And despite having NWN uninstalled, I still have a copy of that module =P Last I recalled, it was only updated to support lvl 20, had 3 1on1 arena's, with an underground team arena that was much larger. I do remember a point where we had almost 60 people online. I don't remember if that was one of the times I hosted it because it was down and I wanted to play, so I advertised, or if it was up and lots of people simply joined *shrugs*. Too long ago for my shitty memory to recall. I did host it several times myself though when it wasn't already up because I enjoyed it so thoroughly.

Hacked is fun, but only to an extent for me. Legit takes a lot more skill, and gives off more satisfaction when you triumph. On the other hand, it always made me giggle when I could CREATE a hacked character from scratch on a Sever-side module. *smirks* Make a brand new character, since I didn't have any on their server, and by the time I got into the game have 45 str and 245 or all other stats (because at 50+ str it goes negative and you became heavily encumbered, and at 255+ for any other stat and they went negative as well; including saves and skills)
